It feels like spring- even if it isn't!

All the warm weather we have been having lately sure makes me think of spring- even if it is at least a month early!  It's too soon to start digging but not too soon to start planning!  If you would like some help in your garden this year, it's best to start the conversation early so we are ready for spring when it really comes. 

And before you know it, it's August!

Where did the time go?!  Spring and summer have been wonderfully busy planting, planning, digging, trimming and pulling weeds!  Yes, I DO call pulling weeds wonderful- that's why I'm in this business!  (so if you hate pulling weeds, you know who to call!)
And my favourite native plant of August?  Hard to choose, but I do love both kids of lobelia- look at this striking red cardinal flower I added to a client's garden this year!  There's nothing quite like it!

Spring is coming...?

Of course it is!  It's just taking its time again this year. On the bright side, that leaves us lots of time to think about what we might want and plan it just right!  I'm really looking forward to the 2015 season and am more than happy to start discussing garden plans with you- so give me a call!

What a great summer- and time to get ready for fall!

Nurturing Nature has had a great first spring and summer!  I helped create some great native plant gardens and helped many people keep their gardens from being swallowed by weeds!  It's been wonderful meeting so many nice people and helping you make your gardens beautiful and good for the earth! 

So many people ask about trimming and I usually caution them to wait to do any major cutting back until the fall- so now is the time!  I'm happy to help come cut back those unruly shrubs, pull out dying flower stalks and all things to get your garden ready for fall.  There's no reason your outdoor space can't be enjoyable for at least another month with the right care!

This picture is of Boneset, which I have added to a few gardens this year and has attracted to many bees and other insects- it makes me happy to see what a difference we can make together!
